Natalis Divi Iulii and Ludi Apollinares
This day was the penultimate day of the Ludi Apollinares (Games of Apollo). It also commemorated the natalis Divi Iulii, the birthday of the Deified Julius (Caesar). According to the historian Cassius Dio, Julius Caesar was really born on the 13th, but a Sibylline prophecy prevented any god but Apollo being worshipped on that day - so today was his 'official' birthday.
